What kind of show are you looking for? Action, slice of life, magical girl, etc?

If you haven't seen Azumanga or Haruhi already then you should watch those as those are required viewings.

I've just watched 5cm Per Second and it was absolutely amazing. I love things like that. So sad.

Do you know anything like it?

I've actually never seen 5cmpersec because my blu ray rip for it is messed up and it cuts off the last 15 mins and I still haven't gotten a new one. If you are looking to bawww then I would suggest watching anything that is based of the visual novels by Key ie. Air, Kanon, Clannad. I'd suggest Kanon 2006 first, the first arc made me cry like a little girl ;_;.

You should definitely try and finish it. The song at the end is sad. :[

I still can't believe how epic Gurren Lagann is though. Mecha the size of galaxies and shit. So over the top and ridiculous but it's so fun.

Yeah I know it's a classic, I just haven't gotten around to re downloading. If you are looking to go the sad route you could try visual novels but that's something that's a whole new level of weeaboo.
