Athlete's salaries
I'm just curious to find out what people think of the salaries that athletes make today? Does anyone seem to think that they make way too much money? I know that I for 1 certainly do.

Yeah, I do. They're getting over paid for playing sports. It's stupid I find, I think that doctors, nurses, etc.. should get paid more than they are and they should reduce the salary of atheletes.

Hard to say I have a problem since I would love the money if it were me.
It also allows the athletes to give back and have enough money left. It's the guys that spend it on drinks and drugs only that i'm worried about. |

I too worry about those who spend it on drinks and drugs as that's never good. However, you don't really see a lot of athletes giving the money back to those who really could use it just to survive. That's why I still have a problem with the whole thing.

I don't think atheletes are over paid, and here are my reasons:
1) Once atheletes hit the age of around 40, they retire. They then have to be educated and get a job, or give up working. They need enough money to be able to take the second option. 2) So much money is pumped into sport, it would be silly not to give some back to the people who make it happen.

I'm sorry lethalboom but if the first reason were a good reason then I honestly think that everyone should make enough money to be able to retire at the age of 40. Athletes should make less money and then get an education and a job when they retire from sports, in my opinion.

I think they deserve it. It wouldn't be fair if only the clubs' shareholders made money and not the players. There is so much money in sports and it would be really unfair if the people who play don't make any. same with actors.
