Default Kernel From Google ?

Kernel is the main and mandatory part of an Operating system.
First Kernel Was designed by Apple Inc,steve jobs and his very few Members team designed it.
Then Bill gates Had a study on Apple's Kernel and made a copy of Apple's kernel and Designed "Windows",which later became one of the most used operating systems.

With these Big shots ruling the IT industry,Google Has risen from no where and It has become the God and considered as the "Visible God" in many software and Computer personals.Larry Page,In one of his interviews told his views on designing an operating system like this "Google will never step into Operating System,It will stay away from it".But is it true ?
Google Never misuses an oppurtunity if It can get onto it.Can we expect a new operating system from Google with its own kernel ?
Kernel is the most difficult part to design,I think Google has already started working on it ? But dint get a proper result and This made larry page to give a statement like it ? Are there any hidden works going on from google's side to design a kernel.
Now join me in this Ultimate debate whether Google gets into Os business or not.

I remember Novell as Network OS. Sit on 5% MS-DOS partition. 95% of HD space own by Novell file system. That was a very long time ago. Then Novell acquired SUSE, it was a marriage made in haven. Well at least we know where is the kernel for Novell come from right ??
Base on their manpower , Google is capable developing their own kernel. Well I say why not... ? We live in an open market ..

I don't think Google needs to have an OS.

I mean, they are already so powerful, Google comes in the first place when discussing about search engines, Google has developed so many new things later these days (GoogleDocs, GMail), I think an OS would be risky move for them having the giants Microsoft and Unix/Linux OS...
