I think what you're talking about is the idea that the slower you go, the faster time will go. However that's hard to control considering you have to slow down everything, including how fast you think and all of the involuntary functions your body does.

I don't believe in backwards time travel based on the Grandfather paradox. It states that if one could go back in time and kill their own grandfather, how could it be possible for that very person to be alive to go back to kill their grandfather? However, I haven't looked into forward time travel so idk.

Rules of Mathematics basically make time travel impossible. What we studied was Einsteins Theory using an equation I cannot remember but basically anything travelling at the speed of light would cause the equation to have a zero on the bottom of the fraction which is undefined and anything travelling at the speed of light would cause the equation to have the square root of a negative number which is also undefined. Thats all I can remember.

I don't think time travel is possible. But thinking about it is indeed very interesting and stimulating to the mind. Think about this:

You travel back in time going thousands of years back. You bring with you enough provisions that should give you time to familiarize yourself with life in your chosen era. You bring with you guns and ammo enough to fit into your time machine. Imagine what power that will give you when you arrive in the time zone you have chosen and start asserting yourself as a leader. How big do you think your kingdom/empire would be?
You could be living as a king instead of breaking your back doing your daytime job.

I learned a little bit about the idea of time travel way back in middle school. The basic Idea was tested by starting two identical stopwatches at the same time. They left one on the ground and put one on a supersonic plane. after a set amount of time, when the plane landed the watch that was on the plane was 2 seconds behind the other one...

I though it was interesting.

You can't go back in time. You don't have to solve equations to figure out that you can't erase a cause after its effect. Time is just cause and effect: happening million of times with million of instances.

I think that time travel is a neat concept but it's only that and nothing more. I don't see us being able to alter the course of time and go back or ahead in time. I'm too logically based to believe that this could ever happen.

Hun, you believe in God: you can't be logically based. And even your view of time negates the existence of a God as even no one can alter the course of time ahead of time, then that means God can't either eh?
