As Microsoft Bill gates said at the annoucement

Windows 7 is coming!
And it will have touch screen capabilites

It will have alot of bug fixes
and it will have alot of work to be done.

But its expected to arrive at 2009-2010
During the fall

Anyway tell me what you all think of windows 7 or any suggestions on what they should put in it!

I fear for the cost of any computer system that is reliant on a touch screen, as the money to mass-market something of that sort would be staggering. Admittedly this is an incredibly cool new feature, but may seem more of a gimmick than a necessity. Apart from this it does feel like a re-hash of Vista.

The compatibility functions are a bit iffy as well, with Windows haggling for faster processing speeds and less interest in backwards compatibility. After a while this would have little meaning, granted, but that is a long way off.

It actually has a bit of potential if Microsoft doesn't follow their usual ways of making great possibilities shitty.

I hope that MS has learnt by burning its fingers at the Vista fiasco and would learn more about users expectations and would come up with a product in line with that.

After the creation of Vista I'm worried about anything that Microsoft would even think of creating. They seem to think that they're making things better but they're not.

Vista was no worse than XP was when it was released. People hated and complained about it all the same until it was tweaked to perfection. I can't be the only one that remembers that as well.

You're right about XP now that I stop to think about it I do remember it. What I don't get is why doesn't Microsoft slow down and work out the kinks instead of just throwing product after product at people? Don't they realize that this is just giving them a bad name? Or don't they care?

There's no fixing Windows Vista. They're just moving on.
