I guess off topic is not that we are not interested in the real world news and happenings but it is only an relaxation to have a off topic. So that we don't go that much serious with the topic and we enjoy light and funny topics. And thats why we have so many threads for off topics.

On topic gets pretty serious and some times depressing. The off topic stuff is much lighter and just makes you laugh.

Yes, Just for laugh, we choose this forum I suppose.

It has more fun than seriousness. Something like a going to fun movie and expecting serious scenes I am not that sort

I agree. I think on topics get pretty boring, lame, discouraging, depressing, really puts you on a negative plane. Discussions on wars, terrorism, conflict, crimes, social degeneration, fuel hike, etc. could really make someone feel bad. I guess it's one reason people want to have a break and head on to off-topic discussions to feel somewhat relaxed and relieved.

People love to debate, and that's the primary reason forums are addictive and popular. I wouldn't categorize it as boring or lame or depressing. Over-arguing and debating can lead to boredom, but that's the same with all things, even talking about nothing off-topic topics. Feeling relaxed all the time is boring.

When everything has to be offtopic here, then an ON topic discussion becomes offtopic for this forum, and so that comes within scope of this forum. :)
