Default ALOT <--- should it be a word?

idk if you guys have noticed either at HoC or here in my 20 something posts but i post ALOT alot. lol.

teachers hated me throughout school because i never spelled it "a lot" and i still don't. just habit i guess. anyways i just realized i did it so why not make a topic about it and see your guys POV.

i think that it should be its own word because "alot" flows as one word way better. " a lot" is two different words which when said sound as one.

that and ive always spelled it alot..... lol

opinions?

How exactly can you pronounce "a lot" more than one way?

The only way I can think of it is to emphasise the gap between them.

Anyway, it is certainly a lot.
